Meet the characters:

Eros is hellbent on getting revenge for his sister’s death. He returns to La Famiglia solely because he was promised Giusto would pay for his crime. All that changes when he sees Serafina’s photo and decides a better punishment would be marrying Giusto’s sister, Serafina.

Serafina is a pawn in a very delicate game between two men. Eros is nothing like she expects, and she finds herself feeling emotions she shouldn’t. Giusto is not the man she thought he was, where Eros is everything and more than she could ask for.

Eros learns that Serafina is nothing like her brother. Now, he must protect her at all costs.

Feel the passion:

My God! She’s extraordinary! Even filled with fury, she’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. Her brown eyes turn almost black, her face is flushed, her body trembles, and her passion pushes me for answers.

“I’m not your enemy, gioia. We are both in a less-than-perfect situation. However, we can make the most of it. I need to marry, and so do you. Consider the possibility of who your brother would choose for your husband,” I say, and see a frown forming on her pink lips. Serafina knows her brother would never take her feelings into account. His decision would be made purely for his own selfish purposes. “I have spoken to your mother and have assured her that both you and she will be well taken care of. Neither of you will suffer unless I am betrayed.”

Leaves you wanting more:

I answer with a question of my own. “Where do you want him? I can deliver him dead or alive.”

“Fuck me, you got him!” Nero exclaims. “Jesus! You really are a secret weapon.” Then he lets out a laugh.

“Wan is a means to an end. Choice is yours. Do I deliver him dead or alive?” I ask again.

“Hold up,” he replies, and I can hear him walking across a tile floor. “Dad, Eros has Wan. He wants to know if you want him dead or alive.”

“Alive. I want to be there when the final blow is delivered,” I hear Marco say.

I want confirmation. “My reward doesn’t change. The prize is the same. Serafina and my new job as Giusto’s underboss.”

“We keep our word, Eros. La Famiglia always keeps their word,”Nero insists.

“The deal was I kill him,” I remind him.

“This is better. All the capos get to see his end.” I know that Nero put me on speaker, because Marco’s voice comes through loud and clear.

La Famiglia is looking forward to welcoming its newest underboss, and a wedding celebration is always a festive event,” Marco says, and it sounds like he’s got a smile on his face.

“Where do you want him delivered?” I ask.
